A Mother’s Story, A Life’s Mission
In 1992, I gave birth to my daughter.
Before we left the hospital, they gave us a bag filled with coupons, gifts—and an envelope for life insurance. No one sat my husband and I down to explain the different types of life insurance available.

• 2006: My husband was diagnosed with his first cancer. Still, no one educated us.

• 2014: My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Still, no one.

• 2015: After the passing of my father and my husband. Still, no one.

Why were we never invited to an event? Why did no one ever knock on our door? I relied on a single envelope to determine my daughter’s future.
Today, I am still paying on her policy because she is considered uninsurable. Rest assured, this mama bear will one day find coverage for her. 

 

As for my husband—had he not been in the Marine Corps and kept the Veterans Life Insurance when he retired—we would have been homeless. Still, no one.​

The Turning Point

In 2016, I was finally invited to WWW/Money 101, where I learned how to get my financial house in order.For the first time, someone shared with me what I needed to know.Wow… Million Dollar Baby, living benefits—those would have been a game changer!
