200 flags raise funds for veterans, honor everyday heroes

Since Memorial Day over 200 flags fly in front of Stafford County Courthouse. At the ceremony, the Stafford Rotary club presented proceeds from their fundraiser to Haven for Hero's and Leashes of Valor, two charitable organizations aimed at helping veterans. The funds were raised by selling sponsorships for flags. Each flag is dedicated to its sponsor's personal hero. Some of these heroes might be service members, others might be teachers, coaches, firefighters, parents, or family members.
